Communities in rural, regional and remote (RRR) Australia experience poor oral health at significantly higher rates than people living in major cities.

Dr Minh-Thu will discuss her experience as a dental officer with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and her time volunteering in the mountains of Nepal. Learn more about the distribution of the dental health workforce across Australia & its effect on rural oral health statistics. She will also give her advise on how to combat limitations in RRR moving into the future.

After completing a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (USYD), Dr Minh-Thu joined the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill for 2 years, gaining invaluable experience working alongside NSW Health, Correctional Health Services NSW and MaariMa Health Aboriginal Corporation.

Minh-Thu has a passion for oral surgery and preventative dentistry, with a focus on pain-free dentistry.
