Sharon Boutell

Sharon is a registered dental hygienist currently working in a periodontal and specialist implant practice. She studied in London and graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry as a dental Hygienist and Therapist achieving awards for clinical skills and patient care. Her proven clinical and lecturing experience in dentistry spans more than 25 years, she has been involved in education, research, and teaching on undergraduate BHSc Oral Health programmes for Dental Hygienists, Oral Health Therapists and Dental Care Professionals in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. She has lectured nationally to her peers focusing on advanced periodontal instrumentation, ultrasonic technology, and sharpening. Her research interest includes how oral probiotics influence the oral microbiome in radiation therapy induced oral mucositis? She is an ambassador for EMS and loves everything about Guided Biofilm Therapy and honestly believes this technology is a complete game changer for all dental professionals managing their patient’s oral health needs in clinical practice. On a personal note, Sharon loves great food and is immensely proud of nearly becoming very proficient with her drone used for another love of hers - fishing.
