Keeping Implants Healthy
Advances in Maintaining Implant Surfaces
Dr Marina Kamel
The exponential increase in the number of dental implants placed annually has resulted in a parallel and concomitant increase in the number of implants being affected by peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. With the over-ruling medical mantra of "prevention is better than cure", it has become of paramount importance to find ways to protect implant surfaces from peri-implant diseases.
Dr Marina Kamel will present her original and award-winning research investigating the efficacy of various treatment modalities available to the contemporary clinician to use in implant maintenance.
