Managing the Periodontal Patient

Dr Meredith Owen BSc (Hons), BDent (Hons), DClinDent (Perio), MRACDS (Perio)

A crucial part of patient management for dentists, therapists, and hygienists alike is identifying the extent of their patient’s needs.  This includes recognizing one’s own scope, and, when a referral is necessary.

What to expect?

Hear from a renowned Australian periodontist discuss the types of periodontal patients that you may encounter in your practice and discuss the important things to bear in mind when considering a referral. You’ll learn valuable key insights that all clinicians can take away and put into practice the following day, not an academic dissertation.

Dr Meredith Owen will discuss:

  • What to include in the referral
  • The responsibilities of the clinician and the periodontist
  • Considerations for the long term management of the patient
